Frost: Rejoining Rebels

I, Frost, was staring at my mentor Amelia, as we ran through the undergrowth in the Alpha forest. My shadow magic made me able to move nimbly, but Amelia crashed through the dry leaves like a gorilla carrying a robot shooting with a rifle... actually, forget it. A rusty jet plane made less noise.
"Be quiet!" I growled under my breath.
We were looking for Zane, the phantom rebel captured by robotic phantoms when Serena was leading a raid of a roboticization plant. He tended to be... strong, but quite hard to track.
Amelia ran a bit slower, reducing the stupid noise, but it really didn't help that much.
Suddenly, Acgarrow, a phantom rebel, appeared out of nowhere, and grabbed us.
"Why, you daughter of a bit-" Amelia snarled, but I clamped my new green tail armor over her mouth.
Acgarrow's blue eye gazed at Amelia, and Amelia was silenced, despite her mouth trying to open.
We flew over many peaks and regions until we found a misty portal...
"In the sky?!" Amelia shrieked, the silence spell gone.
"Never doubt a rebel, Amelia, running from the Phantom King and Queen has made them clever and athletic."
Amelia made a soft growling noise, as even her bond to the rebels wasn't as strong as mine.
I had been a rebel before. A true one, not just an ally like Peck or Amelia.

Acgarrow gripped our necks with strength, and slowly floated through the portal. Vramaa was behind the swirling mass of mist.
The barren land and toxic air helped us distinguish it from other dimensional lands such as the Phantom Vortex.
In some Metal Ruins near the burnt trees, the Phantom Rebels had set up camp, using some rocks and steel scraps to make the campfire. There were white tents made out of lightweight fabric under the shelter of the ruined home, and a fresh supply of water dripping from rusty pipes.
As we were set down on the dark ground, a few of the rebels got up from roasting their s'mores and absorbed some rusty water from the puddles, unfazed by our arrival.
The biggest white phantom, Serena, floated over to us, and offered us the s'mores they had been making for us.
"I'm glad you are here, Amelia and Frost, I haven't seen both of you since Zane was captured." Serena said with no mouth, which SERIOUSLY creeped me out.
I padded over to a puddle, and drank from it, quenching some thirst I didn't realize was there.
"Its late at night now, so we've reserved a small bed for you two." Serena said, and grabbed us with a gaze.
We were flung roughly into a leather tent just as large as a small ship (the house had been a mansion, apparently) and a lock clicked behind us.
When I homed in on the little droids sown into the fabric, I saw little red lasers blocking us from exiting.
Probably security, but how would somebody who didn't know the gesture get out before someone lets them out?
Amelia sighed, and took off her heavy utility belt and jewelry, falling asleep before her head hit the goose-down pillow.

The next day, we emerged from the tent as Serena unlocked the tent.
"How did you sleep?"she asked in a crisp voice, absorbing more of her latte.
"Under guard? Horribly." Amelia muttered under her breath.
I had to count sheep to sleep, so her insult wasn't too far off from the truth.
Serena frowned with her eye, then decided to drop it and led us to the table, where we could eat some hash browns for breakfast.
After the rich meal, half of the rebels followed Serena, half stayed behind to guard camp, craft weapons, whatever.
We marched over much hard ground with not much to see except for some factories and polluted water, careful not to bump into hostile mechanized Vramaasians.
After a lot of marching and a lot of stopping for a canteen break, we finally reached the small cube of metal where Zane was in stasis.
Serena blasted the cube with her zaps, but the cube was stable enough to withstand that.
Suddenly, a roboticization beam came out of the cube, and partially roboticized most of the rebels.
Some were untouched, along with Amelia.
However, Serena and I had received technical upgrades, which enabled us limited flight, DNA copying, and control over nanites. Parts of us had metal clumps here and there.
I figured this part-roboticization business was a risky move on Aios's part, but he had quite a few minions with technomagic, so he could easily control us.
The metal cube melted from around Zane, and the rebel awoke.
"Hey, what the-" he said, but then he saw what happened and rejoined his comrades without another word.
We awoke in our beds, unaware if we were just dreaming.
I moved my paw, and saw a shimmer of a robotic pad.
Nope. Wasn't a dream.

  1. When I joined three days after animal jam was created we saw a tiny faded painting of what appeared to be a white phantom, along with coat hangers holding cloaks, hoods, jewelry, and small shoes, along with tall containers below containing javelin, cross bows, etc. It was all removed a couple days later. ---frosty731---
