"Frost, I think you should get a dragon. You can fuse your powers with its powers, and you don't get as much energy sucked out as an avatar. Also, bonds are fun to maintain." Greely suggested to Frost as they talked about phantoms. Frost yawned.
"Then I would have to hunt a whole bunch of deer to feed its hungry belly, of course, and you know how much I hate hunting." Frost said.
"Well, then Amelia will hunt some of it, you know how much she loves hunting." Greely said.
"Then where can I get a dragon?" Frost asked Greely.
He scratched his furry chin for a long time, then it seemed like a lightbulb turned on in his head.
"Go raid a dragon nest underwater, then!" he said. Frost rolled her eyes, and teleported to Deep Blue.
Underwater, she was fine, even though she wasn't supposed to know how to swim. Frost swam and swam, until she got to the dark cave at the bottom, near the bright chasm.
"I think that dragons like to live in the lava," she said. Weird roars came from the chasm, so she guessed that was where she had to go.
Squeezing past the firey rocks, she found a small ledge above a nest of metal garbage. One, teal-spotted egg lay in the nest. She could hear the water serpent hunting for its dinner not too far away, under the bright ice.
Frost slapped herself. That wasn't bright ice, it was frozen lava! Inside the chasm, there was lava underneath the cool ice, which probably symbolized icefire.
Slowly picking up the egg, Frost tried to teleport.
Nothing happened.
She cursed under her breath, (somehow she could breathe underwater) because the dragon's sonar was interfering with her teleportion!
Frost, using the animal way, escaped the hard way, paws barely keeping her drifting up.
Just when she escaped, a large roar came out from the chasm, and the sea floor shook. Frost now could teleport, but she had to do it fast or she would be dead.
"I like shish kabobs!" the dragon roared for some reason as she traveled back to her room in the castle.
Two weeks after her escape, Frost was staring at the egg in her egg bouquet, when it started to crack. To make sure no thieves stole it, she disguised it as another egg in a nest of eggs. The other eggs hatched on command, but this one hatched on its free will. Frost liked how she had all three of the Easter gifts in the throne room. Egg on Pillar, Egg Bouquet, and Easter Basket.
"Cheep?" the egg chirped. Frost gasped as an adorable dracling hatched from the egg, teal scales shimmering. She fed it a hot dog while thinking of a name for it.
"Uh... I'll name you... Gleam!" she said, hugging her new dragon.
"Hey! Lay off the squeeze!" the dragon said in her mind, and she let go, muttering "sorry."
