"Are you sure that Mira wants you to look for this 'savanna'?" Greely growled in Lisa's ear as she got ready for the trip, along with her cane.
"Greely, I can take care of myself. The bullet wound doesn't hurt me that much." Lisa said, taking her face away from Greely's tongue.
The alphas all gave her a proper goodbye as she set off for this place west of Jamaa Township. She waded through the water, all the Jammers gawking at her presence However, she hoped that the ancient wards wouldn't require all Jamaasian things to fade away...
Checking the Alpha's archives, I have found some burned information on some papyrus. Be sure to remember that these stories can be fakes, but there has been no confirmation, so this is the only lore Jamaa leans on today...
Lisa was worried that this would appear somewhere, and in fact it has. ( Look at the first Adventures Of Marco And Sabre) Long ago, after the beta times, Mira was worried about all the attention the alphas and gods got, and how it would wear them out once Jamaa grew and grew. So she brought the teaching of the lore to an abrupt stop just when it was about to start, and tried to hide the existence of Mira, Zios, the Alphas and the true story behind phantoms. Now, Lisa sobbed every night over all those lives outside that were ignorant of the history under their paws.
As she used a machete to get through the thick woods, she saw a blazing sun in the distance, and something that reflected it. Either it was a pebble, a bracelet, or least likely...
"A Spirit Stone!" Lisa exclaimed. As she picked it up, she saw the shimmering spirits of elephants dance in it, and numerous runes carved on it. She read the runes out loud:
DANGER LURKS AHEAD
Lisa didn't like the sound of that, but she had to keep going after she fused the stone to her cane.
Once she had made the bond, Lisa ran through the rest of the woods, not caring a bit that vines ripped at her satin robes. She always could repair them.
It was tempting to revert to her true form for better protection, but that was like running with a mattress stapled to you. Besides, her mana was a bit low for such an important trip.
When she finally found the grasslands she was looking for, Lisa just had to say "Wow."
Vast grassland stretched out around her, with limitless amounts of wildebeest, lions, and zebras.
If Sir Gilbert went on this trip, then he would have found it hard to choose which animal to hunt first and which to ask a question.
All of them looked identical, as if Mira had cloned them all.
Well, every species had members that looked the same, actually. But you get the idea, right?
But what she thought would be a good place for the public was the small hill near the woods and river.
Rocks surrounded the hill, with a small gap for the path towards where she stood. A mysterious glass dome was squeezed close to a dark path in between a mountain range that ran over grass, and became a sort of hook at the end, where there was a valley beyond this grassland. Tattered banners, overstuffed plushies and topiary life stood outside, neglected for years.
A baobab tree, a gigantic one with invisible steps leading up the east side stood proudly on the hill, windchimes and nests nestled in its branches. Apparently, there was a small house inside the tree, as there was a door closed off smack dab on the front.
Last, but not least, there was also a mud bath just a bit east of the dome, with an ant colony nearby.
"Hiss..." a voice hissed (obviously) somewhere. Lisa felt like the phantoms were guarding something nearby. Lisa's paw reached for her staff, where she could call in the help of Mira or her friends, but she had to do this alone.
Greely would be all over her if she needed his help.
"Come out, I know you're there!" Lisa cried.
Three large phantoms came out of thin air, with three spirit stones each in their tentacles.
"Foolish Alpha, my name is DarkBreath. I am one of Apophis's generals, just like Ka. These three Spirit Stones will be represented by Alphas that know how to defeat Lord Apophis, and I cannot let that happen." DarkBreath, the largest phantom said.
"I am frequently mistaken for the Phantom King, but he is not me. Prepare for a doomsday I prepared just for you!"
Lisa again wanted to summon her true form, but other circumstances decided otherwise.
Darkbreath lunged, and made Lisa duck, but that made her more vulnerable to the other two phantoms that burrowed and hit her.
They carried her up in the sky, and DarkBreath made a U-turn to finish her off. Now she needed her true form.
Lisa was lifted up as a mirage of her shaman self surrounded her. She swiped with her cane, the mirage swiped.
The two other phantoms stood no chance.
As Lisa started to fall as she watched her ride crumble into time, she lifted up with a jump.
"You're supposed to be dead by now, blasted panda!" DarkBreath growled.
"Well, you are too. All phantoms were supposed to have expired by the time the First Phantom War was over." Lisa replied calmly.
Lisa swiped her cane again, and enjoyed the look of horror on DarkBreath's face as he crumbled. More powers of time came into her possession.
She had liberated the rhino, crocodile and giraffe spirit stones, and one more land was free for the cause of Jamaa.
