Rogues of Jamaa: Betrayal

Part 1
Tango opened her eyes. A tiger was sitting next to her. He seemed familiar, but she didn’t know who he was. In fact, she wasn’t even sure who she was.
“Hello,” said the tiger. “I am Twilight. Do you want me to tell you who you are? I’m expecting you forget.”
Tango nodded eagerly.
“Your name is Crow. You are on my side and want to destroy Jamaa. You also do anything I say. You remember that now.” The last sentence was not a question, but a command. Suddenly, Tango (or should I say, Crow) had false memories of slaving for Twilight, feeling happy of doing it, and false feelings of hatred towards Jamaa. Crow nodded.
“Follow me.” Crow obediently walked after Twilight, and they stopped outside Mia’s den.
“Inside that den lives an Arctic Wolf named Mia. She acts really sweet, but you hate her. Now you have to go inside and destroy her. She isn’t home right now, so let’s hide here. Tell her that you need her to come back, because you have something important to tell her.”
Crow did as told. In a couple of minutes, Mia was racing back into her den alone, not having reached the heroes yet.
“Her weakness is that she will help anyone. Now set this trap and destroy her!”
Crow nodded, took the trap, and set it outside the den. Then she called out. “Mia help!”
The sound of paw steps racing towards the door was heard and it creaked open as Mia raced out. “Tango, what’s wr-“
Mia was caught in the trap. Crow cackled gleefully. “You fell for it.”
Mia stared at Crow in shock. “I don’t get it, Tango. Is this some kind of a joke? If it is, then take me out now.”
Crow widened her eyes in mock surprise. “A joke? Who would think of it? And by the way,” snapped Crow,” My name isn’t Tango.”
Mia winced at the harshness and hatred in Crow’s words, and the trap already starting to work. “Ok, please tell me this is a joke.”
Oh, is the little arctic wolf scared,” sneered Crow in a baby voice.
Twilight walked calmly up behind Crow. Mia gave a start when she saw him. “Tango! Can you please get some sense into your little brain and get me out of here?”
Twilight sat down. “I believe she is being very sensible already.”
Mia’s mouth dropped open. “Then you’re- together?”
“Yes, we’re together,” Crow said, mimicking Mia’s voice. “Hadn’t you already guessed? Or do you need Frost to help you? Jamaa is going down.”

  1. Part 2
Mia’s voice shook with pain, her strength wearing away. “Tango, I don’t know what's gotten into you."
Crow sneered at her. “What’s gotten into me has always been there, and always will be.”
Mia trembled. They must have done something to Tango somehow. Made her forget. There must be a way to bring Tango back. Something she could never forget. Maybe… what she had seen the other night?
“Artificial wings! Flying artificial wings!” Mia blurted out.
Crow stopped taunting Mia and shot a confused look at Twilight. “What’s she talking about? I think you need to talk some sense into her.”
Mia took a deep breath, trying to bury the panic inside her. Maybe something else would work. Perhaps… Mira? Mira was deeply special to Tango.
“Mira! Mira!” Mia shouted, almost a cry.
“Yes Mira. Mira will be forgotten soon,” replied Crow menacingly.
Mia almost willed the trap to work faster. She was sick of seeing her friend acting like this. Then a light bulb went off in Mia’s head. What was THE most important thing to Tango? Collectibles for her. She was obsessed with them and had to have every one she saw.
“Jewels! Jewels Tango! I have jewels for you!” Mia felt hopeless, but it was worth a try.
Tango shook her head, and then seemed to drool. “Jewels? Where?”
Mia felt hopeful. “Over there,” she pointed weakly.
Tango raced as fast as her little paws would carry her to the spot Mia pointed. Then her ears drooped. “I don’t see any jewels-“
Tango turned around and stopped dead when she saw Mia in the trap. “Mia! What happened?” Her gaze hardened as she looked at Twilight. “Did he do that to you?”
Mia sighed. “Tango, I don’t know how to tell you this, but-“
“It was your own doing!” Hissed Twilight.
Tango stared, frozen in shock. Then, she sprinted over to Mia.
“I don’t know what you’re trying to say, but whatever it is, it’s not true,” growled Tango at Twilight over her shoulder, helping Mia out of the trap. “I would never do something like this to my friends!”
“Oh, but you already have,” said Twilight.
Tango had had enough. She felt herself instinctively melding into the earth. Using as much power as she could, she pushed a mountain without a tip around Twilight. She was just about to seal it off when she saw Twilight flying out, his artificial wings spread. Tango watched him go, hearing his scream.
    “I’ll get you Tango!”
Tango pulled the mountain underground. “Mia, what really happened?”
Mia knew Tango wouldn’t want to hear this, but she needed to know. “Here’s what I think. Well, I heard you call for help, and I ran outside and fell into a trap. You were acting like you hated me and wanted to destroy Jamaa. Then Twilight came and I found out you were together. I was about to die. I tried to bring you back, but neither attempt worked. Then, when I called out that I had jewels, you ran over to where I pointed and then you were- well, back to normal.”
Tango felt horror creep up her spine. She had nearly destroyed her friend! “But- why would I do that?”
Mia sighed. “I think Twilight made you forget everything you knew. Then he told you that you hated Jamaa, and got you to help him. We just need to watch out for him now.”
Tango looked up at the sky where Twilight had flown off. Inside her, hatred bubbled inside her. That tiger had almost cost her friend’s life! He was going to pay…
    To be continued…
Note: As an effect from what happened, occasionally Tango would become Crow again, set out to destroy Jamaa. She wasn’t dangerous to anyone except Mia, as the only hero she had ever been ordered to destroy was Mia. Like this time, the only way Mia could stop her was by mentioning that she had jewels.
Well, that was good, Tallstar! Now, here is my continuation, with a shocking new character entering the fray (well, not so new, but he's one of the forgotten characters).

    Rogues of Jamaa: Grudge

Twilight flew up, soaring across the sky.
"I hate that rabbit. Still, Frost is much more of a threat, especially when she has the dragon Remy inside her, along with Tempest. Those will have to perish soon. I must report back to Xaia, still." growled Twilight.
A large peak emerged from the distance, and he soared inside the cavern.
"Well, well, if it isn't my favorite wolf. Screech already got back here to report of your failure. How pathetic." hissed a voice.
"Xaia, we are truly to blame. Our former leader Roar has died, along with his most trusted servant, Night. We shall serve you now, tomb of the Coraxese." said Twilight, kneeling down and folding down his wings.
A blinding light flashed, and the being known as Xaia touched down on the rotten, soggy floor.
Sparkles all around the spirit, she sneered as her aura swirled around her like a black hole.
The stone she was in was cracked and old, yet was smooth to the touch, which was odd... not odd in Jamaa, though.
Putting her face in Twilight's face like this:
    she cackled.
"Twilight, weakling... you must trick someone else, someone of closer relation... say, Ledra. She has the Corax priest Shade within her, and has greater power than Tango Elysium Gaia. Try summoning the wolf back with trickery... trickery is good."
"B-but how, Lord Xaia... I mean, ma'am?" stammered Twilight.
"You will figure it out, son... it is not hard. Do it, or be swallowed by Mother Spirit..." hissed Xaia. "Remember your promise, your burning desire to bring Sasuke back since that avalanche."
Laughing with pleasure, in a supernova blast, Xaia was gone.
    (Last glimpse of Xaia)
    Twilight sighed, twiddling his claws.
"I want to kill Jamaa for what they did to my homeworld.. but how? Xaia herds me along with her whip of threats to kill me, like a slow cow, but its hard! Sigh..."
Putting on a determined face and extending his wings, Twilight took flight once more.
"Sasuke... come back..." whispered Twilight. A tear rolled down his cheek, and this one memory came back:
His rune-shaped fur glowing, Twilight surveyed the area for any Jamaasian blood.
