In The Jungle: Hyrestia Tales

Sorry, Tempest, but I need the story to move onwards. >.< Also need to declog the Roleplay soon...

"Ye sure we should be here?" muttered Snowyclaw.
"Yes, of course." replied Frost impatiently.
"I can't believe Electro abandoned me." lamented Vicky.
"Argh, I wonder what's coming up." growled Tempest.
"What were you guys talking about again?" queried Pink.
They were flying via giant eagles (don't ask why) over the top of the Hivern's peak, dangling at a dangerous height.
Frost had no idea what was their altitude.
She really didn't want to know.
"Yuk yuk yuk, I despise this vile pile of fox dung." spat Tempest. "Had a bad run-in with Power Out Frost here."
Pink turned her fluffy head towards the black wolf, her metal-plated wings elegantly gliding over the draft, and raised an eyebrow.
"Eh?" growled the cyborg.
Later, mouthed Tempest.
After some tedious 7 hours, with nothing more than some aimless chat, emergency restroom breaks (yuck), and several flying burritto attacks (believe me, those are deadly), they finally got within a stone's throw of the utopian village...
Siarnaq.
"Nestled beyond Poseidon's Helm, in a rich jungle filled with magical plants and many other luscious wonders, lies the haven of Siarnaq! Adventure in the Rabbit Hill sector, and advance into other safari zones unil you reach the legendary Hope Diamond zone, with a mayor-certified license to boot! Shop in the Piazza, sifting through many memorable heirlooms from the clans in Siarnaq and eating at great bistros on the treetops! Want a dip in the Bap Lake? Purchase a kayak from the vendors around the shores, and find the perfect bonding time for your group! We have many complimentary hotels such as Marriott, Hyatt and Holiday Inn, along with culinary specials Olive Garden, HuHot, Red Lobster, Hardee's and others!" muttered Amanda.
Frost raised her eyebrows thrice at Amanda's blabber.
"Uh, sorry. Memorized that from a brochure I picked up near Jade's cabin."
Frost was sure Amanda said more, but was instantly lost in a memory of their farewell to the Mobian Heroes.

Frost was pushing some clothes, sunscreen and spathas into her suitcase when the door opened.
"Leaving so early?" chirped Jade. "I was going to take you to the Ridge Run on the hills nearby for some sledding."
Frost sighed, and turned to the green echidna.
"I'm sorry, Jade, but we have to stop Apophis soon. I have a feeling he's leaving us in peace here so he can sum up his forces. We're not one of those generic 'heroes'" - Frost made air quotation marks - "that just wander around defeating enemies and cracking jokes that make no sense at all. We are in real danger, and Apophis could destroy all worlds as we know them if we don't hurry."
Jade rolled her eyes, being a "delinquent" and whatnot. Sigh.
"Look, I don't want to sound like the generic and cliched antagonist answering things and creating doubts, but I have a question." sighed Jade.
Frost's ears tensed.
"Go on," said the leopard.
"Well," muttered Jade. "Its just that... why are you fighting for Jamaa? Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just revert to becoming a normal Jamaasian? Trying to stop scammers, participating on online things created by Jamaasians, raising a family with Zion? I mean, to the general public, this war is distant and without meaning, despite the things at stake. Couldn't you just leave Apophis to do what he wants and relax from your 'duty'?"
Frost's eyes darkened, as if a cyclone were stirring within them. She zipped her zebra-hide suitcase closed and sealed it inside the Duat without a word.
"To tell you," she finally growled. "I fight because of my mother and father. Sagearium fought bravely even after being interoggated with the bamboo stake torture-"
Frost shuddered as she remembered the brutal torture she read about, where a bamboo stalk was precisely planted so that it would grow through your heart and release you soul. Those kind of stereotypical Asian tortures were brutal and sheer malice.
"-just to buy me time. I fought alongside Serena and her troops as a rebel until I adapted to a normal life as a young adult for a while, then discovered a meaning from the Alphas, despite the loss of my foster family. Bloda spared no information of me and his parentage of a savage and a deity to his clan, protecting me from the wrath of half-bloods. Mira  guided me many times on my misadventures. Jamaa's breath embraced me during my two decades of life, and its heartbeat soothed me to sleep every night. I just couldn't let the apocalyptic forces overtake my homeland, destroying the land that was alive in itself. The spirit of Jamaa is undying, and I fight to preserve its immortal life." sighed Frost.
Jade clapped slowly, clearly amused by her motivational speech.
"Hey, that's great! I'll divulge some information on what happened after Aios's defeat, by the way. I don't want to leave you HANGING, ha ha!" she chuckled.
"What was the pun? I don't get it."
Jade shrugged.
"Ah, I admit it wasn't very PUNNY."
Frost rolled her eyes twice to show her exasperation.
"Okay, okay, I'm horrible at this. I have no idea what it meant either." admitted Jade. "Now, please stop raking me for information. I'll just tell you without any bad puns."
Frost leaned in close to Jade, and listened to her gossip-style intel.
"Well, they actually got Serena turned back to normal. She managed to distrubute protection nanites for most of the rebel troops, and they're now ransacking the Cybernetic Castle and joining Tunnel Town to restore Vramaa to its ancient glory. Not much intel on the Coraxese Renegades, but apparently Ledra is starting to awaken within the Duat, and sucking her memories back in. Shade is desperately clinging on to her physical body's powers and trying to dissolve the group of Phantom Empire allies from within. LaSalle, Sputnik, Emile and Kragok are restored to normal and assisting with the recuperation efforts. Gotcha?"
"Gotcha."
The memory faded, and Frost found herself in a soft bed.

"Frost! Jeez, you were out awhile!"
Frost got up, and winced. She felt a giant Band-Aid plastered to her forehead, and a ton of gel in her fur. Seriously, leopard fur didn't go well with sticky substances!
Around her, she saw velvet carpet, velvet walls, velvet blankets, velvet sofas, velvet-coated tables, and a velvet ceiling. She could imagine Drakus scratching the walls, going "ITS SO FUZZEH!"
Her face darkened as she remembered how broken Drakus was when he was confronted by Copy Ledra, and how even more broken he was when he found out the real Ledra was sealed away somewhere deep in the Duat. He had sworn vengeance on Twilight, and was now playing a ton of Metroid games to ease his depression. He had even partially forgotten about his cause to bring crocodiles to glory.
She saw Tempest glaring at her, a shower cap stuck on her head and Matilda slobber all over her.
So she wasn't the only one pegged with slimy thingies.
"Okay, what the heck...?" growled Frost. She slid out, but then felt something... darker within her, as if she found a Dark Shell concotion in her yard and let it consume her heart.
"Its just Ignacio. He found his prankster side when we moved into this hotel." replied Tempest. "He's slothering things on our fur coats, as if we couldn't feel it."
Frost nearly went "bwa ha ha", as she knew that Bloda would be the perfect pal for Ignacio. She still couldn't remove the fresh-kill pile of frying pans out of her castle for some reason.
"Uhm... how the heck did I fall unconscious? I just got immersed in another memory..." murmured Frost.
Tempest's face sloped into concern.
"You sure you're okay, Frost?" she queried. "You've been quite... unstable recently. All these memories consuming your consciousness, the discovery of what happens when Chronos completely devours you, etcetera. I'm worried you might become the true embodiment of Maximus Chronos, like Harper became the true embodiment of Cithara... except a lot, lot worse."
Frost growled, and an audible POOF restored her fur to normal and awoke her senses to the point that they were tingling.
"Don't worry about me. You're the key to the end of this war, as you're the template for what Maximus Chronos will turn out to be. I'm surprised that Apophis hasn't sent Agate, his best servant, after you already. He was defeated waaaaay too easily back at Poseidon's Helm. Maybe once we get help from the whale god himself, we can banish Apophis..."
Frost trailed off, because the place she was going to banish Apophis wasn't pleasant, nor was it pernament, and if she decreed its true location... her comrades would try to stop her.
Tempest sighed.
"We're in Siarnaq now, Frost. Coming from the knowledge you have given me, I'll conclude that we're very close to the location of our final stand. Keldeo says the Sea Heart is tingling like crazy now, as its origin was from Poseidon himself. We're close, Frost... so get control over Power Out soon, m'kay?"
Frost sighed, and gazed out the window to the surroundings outside. She didn't just see the treetops and lavish wildlife, though... she saw an uncertain future, churning in her very paws.
